Review: Lobster Johnson #4

images-10
This issue is mostly action. Which is really really fun. You get mobsters trying to kill Lobster Johnson. Johnson and his crew trying to kill the mobsters, and of course the seemingly unstoppable flaming man trying to kill Lobster Johnson. We still know very little about the motivations of the bad guys, but it seems like a lot of that will be answered in the last issue.

Of course as with all the previous issues, I have to gush about Tonci Zonjic's art. It is so expressive and fluid. I know that this art is not everyone's cup'a, but I think that everyone should take a look at it and see how great of a storyteller he is. How his characters all move and there is very little to no stiffness in his art. Everything has the exact amount of detail needed to convey what you are seeing. With a few lines he can make just about anything look good.

With one more issue to go in this series, this penultimate issue while good, was also some what of a let down. While I still love the art by Tonci Zonjic, the story seems to have come to an abrupt end, leaving what I can only image as a last issue epilogue to follow next issue. But this is Hellboy universe we are talking about. So the next issue could be a very satisfying ending to the story, and I have little doubt that it will be so.
