Oh Agent Coulson, You're Such A Tease...
Marvel’s
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. Teaser Trailers
Fresh
off from the television oven -- I mean premiere. During the season
finale of Once Upon
a Time, ABC aired
the thirty second teaser trailer of Marvel’s
Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D., airing
this fall. With Joss Whedon directing and writing the pilot, he will
also serve as executive producer on the series. This show has all the
premise to be a huge ratings hit for ABC.

Greendale Can't Fail...It Seems...
NBC
Picks Up ‘Community’
For Season 5
Finally,
we got some good news on the situation of the popular neo-comedy
sitcom “Community.”
NBC confirmed on Friday that the show will be back for a fifth
season. Due to NBC giving show runner Dan Harmon the pink slip, Chevy
Chase losing his mind, and the ratings for the fourth season being so
low. Many fans of the series feared it would be cancelled. With “30
Rock” and “The Office” and “Parks and Recreation” being the
only other popular and marketable sitcom on the network, NBC needed
to pick up “Community” to rebuild their sitcom programming. The
show generates lots of positive buzz and good DVD and Netflix numbers
did help out too. So, if you’re a fan of this series, cheer up,
you’ll be getting another season at Greendale Community College.

Two Big, Non-Big Two, Reviews..!
Comic Reviews By Panagiotis Drakopoulos
Dark
Horse Presents #23: This months issue features the long awaited
return of Dan Jolley’s Bloodhound. Bloodhound doesn’t miss a beat
since the original ending of the comic series way back in 2005(which
I‘ll be reviewing the original series at some point). It’s great
to see Dan Jolley bringing back Travis Clevenger from the land of
obscure to new readers looking for new material outside of the big
two. Other highlights in this issue include, Simon Roy’s Tiger
Lung, Pete Doree & Sean Phillips’ Gabe And The Sandpiper
(Imagine a pulp version of Lara Croft. I hope Pete and Sean have
future stories planned in DHP.), Mike Baron and Steve Rude return
with more Nexus, and Geof Darrow teasing us with a Shaolin Cowboy
back cover and Big Guy and Rusty insert image.
Jupiter’s
Legacy #1: Mark Millar and Frank Quitely reunite after their
milestone run on The Authority, which happened about thirteen years
ago. In this ten issue/chapter maxi-series features a family of
superheroes and how the parents and children view their powers and
the use of those powers. Millar adds a real world element to a world
with superheroes. Dealing everything from the stock market crash of
’29 to what President Obama should handle his second term. It feels
like a weird cross between Kick-Ass and Fantastic Four. Along with a
tight script from Millar, we got Quitely on his a game. Making
Jupiter’s Legacy into a sexy and stylish comic. Quitely’s
character and costume designs feel fresh and realistic. I know a lot
of people are down on Quitely for how he draws his female character,
but for this story it fits well with the characters presented in the
comic. Something tells me that by the end of the summer we might get
a Jupier’s Legacy movie deal. The only thing I’m worried about
this comic, can Frank Quitely keep up with a monthly schedule? I just
hope the final issue won’t be out around 2016.

What the Nerds are Watching...
Spring 2013 TV Preview
by Panagiotis Drakopoulos
With the end
of winter, means that spring is here. What better way than previewing
the spring television schedule. A couple of heavy hitters returning,
Dunder Mifflin Paper Company
closing its doors, a bizarre comedy based on a classic manga series,
and a community college in trouble.
A Game of
Thrones aka A Song of Ice and Fire Season 3
With
the season three opener fresh out of the gates, George
R. R. Martin’s epic fantasy series shows no sign of slowing down
(expect in print form). This season will cover the first half of A
Storm of Swords , the third book in the series. Making Sunday night
the real “Must See TV” (Sorry NBC), along with it’s main
competition…
Mad Men
Season 6
…Mad
Men. Yes, Don Draper and company return for the sixth season of the
AMC hit series. From watching the season six teaser trailer, I
notice that this season will focus more on female cast and Don
Draper’s infidelity problems. Probably this season we’ll get to
dive even deeper into the psyche of Mr. Draper.
The Office
Series Finale
After
nine long years, The Office will finally close its doors. Along with
30 Rock, The Office was the central core of Thursday night comedy.
It’ll be sad seeing The Office ending, but it had a great run. The
only dower for the final season is that Steve Carell won’t be
returning as Michael Scott in a cameo or guest role. The final
episode will be airing on May 16th.
DD Hokuto no
Ken aka DD Fist of the North Star
Fist of
the North Star is one of the most important mangas in Japan. So, for
the 30th
anniversary of Fist of the North Star, there’s a special comedy
series based on the manga. The story of DD Fist of the North Star
takes place in the dark future of 199x, where mankind was supposed to
pick up the pieces after nuclear war, but that never happened. This
show follows the characters of Fist of the North Star trying to make
ends-meat in the present day Japan. The “DD” in the title stands
for “Design Deformation”. The show hasn’t been announced for
any streaming sites. So the only way to watch DD is to wait for the
fansubs.
The Uncertain
Future of... Community?
It’s
been a rocky road for the fourth season of the cult hit show
Community. Series creator Dan Harmon was either let go, fired or quit
as showrunner (Thanks Bob Greenblatt). Chevy Chase losing his fucking
mind, causing him to leave the show. NBC pulling the show from the
fall primetime schedule to the winter schedule (Notice the trend).
Ratings for season four falling faster and a boat load of troubles
too long to list here. It doesn’t look like the show will be
renewed for a fifth season, unless a miracle can happen.
