Ghouls and guns galore in this issue. Johnson and his crew attempt to locate and take down Annie Wald, the mob boss who Johnson has been after since the start of this series. Like any good plan things always go awry, and the do go awry in a big way in this issue. While not everything is wrapped up in a nice little bow, plots are resolved and things are left open for what I hope will be the next Lobster Johnson series. One of the best things about this mini series, it the character of Cindy Tynan. A reporter who has stuck her nose in to something bigger than herself. She is our eyes into the world of Johnson and his crew.
This issue is mostly action. Which is really really fun. You get mobsters trying to kill Lobster Johnson. Johnson and his crew trying to kill the mobsters, and of course the seemingly unstoppable flaming man trying to kill Lobster Johnson. We still know very little about the motivations of the bad guys, but it seems like a lot of that will be answered in the last issue.

This series, for me, has become all about the art. Tonci Zonjic's art is fantastic. His line work is clean, no extraneous lines and he does some of the best body language I have seen in a while. I came for Lobster Johnson, but I am staying for Tonci Zonjic now.
The story continues to be a fun pulpy adventure. Lobster Johnson is confronted with the supernatural threat for the first time and realizes he may be out matched.
Mignola and Arcudi have yet to disappoint me on a Hellboy related series, and this Lobster Johnson series is no different. They, along with artist Tonci Zonjic, create an atmosphere of excitement and dread, as Lobster Johnson continues his war against the criminal underworld,.
We finally get to see Lobster Johnson talk and interact with people, instead of mercilessly killing gangsters. He is more of a strong silent type though, so what he does say is usually frank and straight to the point.
Lobster Johnson is one of my favorite characters. First introduced in the pages of Hellboy, and eventually received his own mini series a few years ago. The best thing about Lobster Johnson, is that we know next to nothing about him. We know that he is a vigilante who brands evil doers with a lobster claw after he has dealt with them, has no problem killing, and rarely speaks. We don't really get that much insight into who is supposed to be the main character, but that doesn't matter. It's the supporting cast of characters that really shine.
This mini starts with a great action scene where Johnson saves a couple from some “ghostly native americans”
