MARVEL AVENGERS ALLIANCE

*Thor movie & comics fans! The next Spec Ops 14 is gonna ring in the release of Thor: The Dark World! With Heimdall as the Ops Hero to recruit in the end, Loki as the lockbox hero & Kurse as the group boss, it's gonna be loads of fun for all us MAA addicts while we help defeat Malekith & his evil elvish forces!

*Following Loki, Sabretooth will be the next lockbox hero.

*Domino will be the next PVP hero up for grabs in Season 12. S12 will also feature a change to how the armory works.

*While we do know that Cyclops' Uncanny costume will be the reward for the Chapter 2 Mastery in storymode Season 2, Daredevil's original costume will be the reward for Chapter 3 Mastery. Also Kingpin & Sin- daughter of Red Skull, will be making their villainous debuts in Chapter 3.

*Those of us eagerly waiting for Chapter 2, the wait just got longer. Chapter 2 is in test right now. A new type of ISO-8 will be introduced with C02 that provides passive features to your characters.

*Even though he was first announced at last year's SDCC, Doctor Voodoo will be coming soon in the game.

*Android fans- MAA will be launching via Google Play on November 21!

*iOS fans- Deadpool will be the next PVP hero. Also, Punisher & Beast will soon be available for recruitment.

*Squirrel Girl will be the next new hero in 1.4. Sneak peek names of some of her powers: Squirrelpocalypse, Hulkbuster Squirrels.

*She'll be followed by Gambit (in 1.5- Nov) & Nightcrawler (1.6- Dec)

*Asgard looks AMAZING! The Dark Elves will show up. And get ready to whoop Loki's ass! There will be a Global Unlocking event for the Asgard content.
*Beta Ray Bill costume for Thor.


*Bronx Zoo will be a new zone amongst others.

*Costume alts for Spiderman (ENHANCED Superior Spiderman) & Scarlet Witch (Ultimate).

And just a small note- The official game for Thor: The Dark World will be releasing on smartphones & tablets this November for free. So Patch 1.3 got out yesterday in Marvel Heroes! So what's in store for you after 1.3? Read on to find out...
*Luke Cage fans! Christmas has come early (see what I did there ;P ) for you guys! Power Man can now be purchased in-game!

*Iron Man fans- Iron Man has had a complete rework!

*Changes have also been made to Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America, Colossus, Cyclops, Human Torch, Ms. Marvel, Spidey & Thor.

*New costume alts for Deadpool (Lady Deadpool) & Black Widow (Thunderbolts) can now be purchased in-game!

I've listed some of the (in my opinion) best additions below:
*If all your current heroes are at L60 & you didn't know what to do next, fear not- Prestige Mode is here! Buy the Ancient Gourd of Prestige from Clea to enable your L60 hero to restart at level 1. All of your items & synergy bonuses will be retained. All quests may be repeated, but power rewards will not be given again. You can get 5 colors of Iron Buddy pets from Clea for your respective prestige level.

*Hero Synergies are finally in-game! Having heroes in your roster at L25 & then L50 will now enable you to add more benefits to them & your other heroes! Hit "V" when you are at a hub or in the training room to assign synergies.

*The Legendary Quests of Odin will now open up for your L20 heroes. This will be one of THE best ways to up your heroes' XP asap. Rewards will be Legendary Marks of Odin which will help add Legendary Blessings to your hero artifacts. (Note: The Odin tasks are currently bugged- XP isn't as high as promised & the Odin orange XP orbs are not visible currently. This will be fixed in the next patch.)

*XP Buffs have been done in certain story areas & Midtown to help normal mode progression.

*You can now effectively focus on tenacity as it has been fine-tuned to help reduce crowd control times & thus, increase overall damage. More tuning will continue on it over next week.

*About 40 more Uniques & 6 new artifacts have been added into the game! 19 new Advanced Artifacts have also been added! These are high level versions of currently existing artifacts.

*There's a new recipe to upgrade a purple item to a cosmic item!!! Requires L20 crafter.

*The Hand of Doom artifact can be obtained from Red T4 Doctor Doom

*You can now buy a 1-time use Bovine Sector Portal from Clea for 500,000 credits!!!

*Team Insignias are now a new item type with a dedicated item slot in your character sheet (I). They can be worn by any hero who's been a member of that team in the comics. But SHIELD team insignias can be used by all.

*Heals When Injured affix has been removed from bosses!!!

Marvel Zombies: Are You Game?

Attention SHIELD Agents! This is Neil, kicking off this li'l segment about the online Marvel games that have us gaming zombies addicted- the Facebook game Marvel: Avengers Alliance & the action MMORPG Marvel Heroes! So while on Tuesdays Jeff Hodges slays the consoles, every Wednesday I'll bring the latest news, discussions, tips, images, & what-have-you on both these games for the more casual gamers out here. And I may do another post on the weekends too so keep your eyes peeled!

I know there's quite a good number of MAA addicts out here, so how far ahead into Spec Ops 13 "Infinity" are you guys? Right now I'm stuck on task 24 that's to 3 star the 3 missions. Anyone managed to get the latest Lockbox hero Thane already? If so, feel free to comment on how you'll opened the boxes. I've got 4 covers with no dupes from 48 boxes, using the same tactic that I used for Elektra's boxes. It's actually Oz's trick - you open a 10x box & then 5 boxes as singles followed by another 10x & so on...

But wait- who the heck is Thane? For those unaware, Thane happens to be the son of Thanos, hiding within an Inhuman community from his father, who is on a hunt to destroy him. In MAA, Thane becomes the 1st hero to be added who hasn't been featured in the comics yet. He will be appearing soon in the currently ongoing Infinity storyline, so this becomes like a teaser for readers...

This move may seem a bit strange to us gamers as all of us have our lists ready of currently existing Marvel comic book heroes we want to see in the game. But if you look at it from a marketing perspective it makes sense- It would help pique the interest of existing readers who are following the ongoing storyline, AND players who don't read the comics may feel encouraged to learn more about Thane & thus pick up the books. Of course, there's also that part of them revealing BIG spoilers though, which ,as Oz puts it, is "kind of retarded".

So what do you guys think about this move on Playdom's part? Should they just stick to releasing heroes that already exist in the comics or would you like to recruit more characters that have yet to be published? And which heroes, announced or not, are you'll looking forward to see in MAA? For me personally, I'm dying for Mystique Lockboxes!
