Tim's Reviews: Saga, Rachel Rising, Night of 1000 Wolves plus More!

Saga 5 - Marko gets hardcore this issue! Saga doesn’t just excite me because it’s one of the best comics out there. As a happily married parent myself, I totally get Marko and Alana. They bicker like a real couple, but their love is real, and would do anything for each other and for their child. Marko showed that this issue, and it was awesome to read. The will is also shaping up to be a deeply complex, and therefore interesting, character. Can’t wait to see where things go with him.

Review: Alabaster: Wolves #3

“Alabaster Wolves” the post-apocalyptic journey of Dancy Flammarion continues as we follow her through her cleansing journey and battles with the supernatural. This issue followed suit with the previous and while the content is expected there is plenty in this issue to surprise.

The story by Caitlin Kiernan is really enjoyable and a pleasant mixture of many things. There is a balance in her style of writing that leaves me completely engaged in her writing.

Our journey continues into the post apocalyptic world of “Alabaster Wolves,” Dancy Flammarion, and the horrific adventure that follows. I’m really in to this series and I’m thankful that Dark Horse comics continues to take risks on stories that may otherwise be untold. This story is dark, gritty and full of supernatural horror.

Review: Alabaster Wolves #1

Wow, I really am surprised at the quality of the books being produced by Dark Horse Comics lately. First they made the epic “Immortal” series and as soon as that’s finished “Alabaster Wolves” is on the shelves.

It’s another mini series with this issue being the first of five but I can tell already there is a great story being told. The art and writing are both griping and raw adding to the layered fantasy laced, dystopian future presented on the page.
