On the Cover: Riley Rossmo

Canadian artist Riley Rossmo is best known for his interior work on Proof, Cowboy Ninja Viking and Green Wake. A graduate of the Alberta College of Art and Design, Rossmo's style is striking and unique. His work is well suited to comic book covers, as he uses layered textures and unusual lines to create powerful design. check out a showcase of his work after the jump!





Rossmo's Green Wake covers are just plain freaky. his scratches, lines and flourishes really add to the creepiness.




This is one of my all time favourite covers. The design is perfect, and captures the mood of the book so well it's eerie.






Rossmo opted for a soft, watercolour look for Proof, but it still has his trademark lines and flourishes.





Often minimalist covers speak far more loudly than heavily detailed ones.




Rossmo's Cowboy Ninja Viking covers all feature action that flies of the page.
